Kickdown cable

Here's a photo of a new throttle body for the 1991. Matches the 1989 s10 in my last post and is completely different from the throttle linkage in your photo. Sorry but it looks like you've got a bubba engine swap! You might be able to put the correct throttle body on your manifold and hook up the cables, but I would proceed carefully.
p.s. a 700R4 trans will not be long for this world without a proper TV cable adjustment. This is a known issue with them.

What issues are you having with the transmission? It won’t last very long without the TV cable hooked up and adjusted correctly. Not a kick down cable. That is a line pressure cable to raise and lower the transmission pressure as required. You will definitely lose 3rd and 4th gears in short order. That geometry doesn’t look like it will work properly. Good luck!

The long shift is from the cable being on the tight side. That is not a bad thing to help preserve the transmission. Just be sure to get it adjusted correctly or you will kill the transmission in short order. YouTube has videos of how to adjust the cable.
