Default Looong Crank

ill start withwhen the problem started but i dont think that it caused the problem but im not sure so ill put it out the and maybe itll help maybe it wont.?.?

a couple days ago i realized i needed a hub bearing on the left front so i parked my truck for a couple days till the weekend when i could put the part on. i also put on rear wheel cylinders due to a previous repair that needed to be finished... but anyway i put the bearing and rear cylinders on started the truck up it started normally 2 or 3 cranks and fires right up i took it for a test drive cameback the my garage, parked, andcut the truck off. about 2 minutes later i started it (everything stillnormal)and it idled for about3 minutes while i looked in the wheel well then cut it off. about 5 minutes later i went to leave and started the truck (still normal) it idled for about 30 seconds then stalled which has never happened before iwent to start it again and it cranked for about 10 seconds before finally starting and ever since then it hashad to crank for about 10 seconds before it will start evenwhen hot it still takes just as long even if i cut it off and 10 seconds later try again same thing always cranks way to long. i have no ses light on at anytime since the problem began.

has anybody else had this problem or have any ideas as to what may have caused this or how to correct it? thanks in advance for any help or ideas.

Default RE: Looong Crank

I would start by doing some almost free maintenance just to make sure that it is not something simple. I would remove the EGR valve, the throttle body, and the MAF sensor, giving them all a thorough cleaning using the appropriate cleaner (sensor safe carbon cleaner for the EGR and throttle body and MAF specific cleaner for the MAF sensor).

It is possible that the EGR valve just happened to hang open, causing the stall and long crank times.
