Default Loud engine or fan noise?

When I start driving my engine sounds very loud, I can tell a loss of horsepower in the pedal. What causes this and how can i fix it? 2001 4.3l V6 68,000mi. It eventually goes away once i get up to speed.

If it's anything like my 1995 blazer, it's the fan clutch that needs to warm up,I think. It's like a loud wining nois? That follows the RPM's?

That is the way it's suppose to be

Its just gotten worse recently, and I just checked it while it was cold and the fan blade moved, so guess I'll just deal with it. Thanks

Colder outside maybe? Takes longer time to warm up?

The fan should move when cold. If you give it a good spin it should spin half/one round or something like that before it comes to a stop.
