Default loud engine noise

I have a 2001 blazer. It is in excellent shape and I keep all services done on time. I bought it used with very low milage and bought an extended warranty. It is still under warranty, I am going to take it in but I want to be a bit more educated about the problem it has. From time to time when I take off it will sound as if the engine is going to jump out of the compartment. By jump I mean it is much louder as if the rpms are high....but the rpm gauge shows normal. It "seems" to have less power also. It doesn't do this all the time. But it is getting more frequent. Any advise would be great....thx

Default RE: loud engine noise

it might just be the fan. my engine compartment sounds louder when the fan is engaged. this usually happens only when I first start to drive out of my driveway in the mornings and i never really hear it again for the rest of the day. but i believe the fan noise is normal, if it is fan noise you hear.

LEt me guess, it does this mostly after you have been ideling for a while with the a/c on during hot days? Your TPS might be going out.
