Default Swap 99 transmission in a 96

The torque converter and transmission on my '96 blazer 4x4 are starting to go so I have been looking for a used one to replace it with. I have found one from a '99 Blazer (4L60E) but I just want to make sure that I can just bolt it right on to my blazer before I go out and buy it. From what I've seen reading through the forums it I believe it will bolt right on without having to do anything special to make it work. Also, if I am not able to get the transmission from the '99, what year blazers would match up with mine? Thanks for any input.

I did read your post before I made my post, TZFBird said that they should work but to pull the pans off to make sure they have the same sensors/solenoids. I am asking if anyone out there has done this swap to verify that already. I don't want to go buy this transmission to find out that there is something different inside and now I have to do some modifying or something to make it work, I just want to be able to bolt it in and go.

you took his words out of context stroker.

he meant, he just wanted to install it, and not have any issues.

i'd like to think almost all of the members on here would know that any year of 4.3 will bolt up to any year of 4.3 (or SB) trans. it's just the electronics (or lack of 'em) that begin to be an issue inthe year swaps.

but back to the topic @ hand. i talked to my tranny specialists, and he said they'll be fine for the swap. no issues. don't know why i didn't think to ask him in the first place, especially since i've known him for 15 years.

Perfect! Thank you very much, looks like I'll be doing a tranny swap in the near future.

sorry, just noticed that it's plural. it shouldn't have been.

just wanted to be clear, not have you think i had numerous people tell me.

not that i'd question what he tells me, considering that how he got into his business, was because of all the racing (and breaking) he did during HS.
