So I知 attempting the most intrusive thing I致e probably ever done mechanically speaking lol, I知 a bit of a novice when it comes to in depth swaps, how ever, I知 fairly versed in terms of replacing factory parts and diagnosing issues with my vehicles. With that being said, I went down to my local pick n pull, and grabbed a 5 speed I found in a 2.2 s10(same motor as my truck I figured that壇 be important lol) well now I知 sitting here wondering what other parts I値l need for the swap, I知 thinking pedals, slave cylinder(which I grabbed off of the donor truck), some sort of wiring harness for back up lights and neutral safety switch?(neglected to grab the wiring), what about the steering column, can I use my factory auto column and just remove the shifter lever? Am I going to need the manual trucks PCM, or can I just splice into my existing wiring harness? Any info or diagrams would be greatly appreciated, thank you all in advance! Here is the transmission I purchased
Definitely get the pedal assembly. I would also get the transmission wiring harness and the PCM. Measure the two driveshafts and see if they're the same. If the manual one is a different length, get that, too.
Your steering column will work. It will just look funny. You can also get the gauge cluster if you don't want the PRNDL indicator on there.
Really, the best way to do a swap like this is to get the whole donor vehicle, but that's kinda hard from a junkyard.
