Default Oil doesn't drain

I have a 2001 4wd 4.3l Blazer. I changed my oil yesterday and only about 1.5 quarts drained out. I figured that I must have had a leak because the oil drain plug gasket was missing. So I added 5 quarts. I checked the dipstick and it was above the full mark. So today, I went to drain it all out again, and add in the appropriate amount, but only a few ounces drained out. I checked the oil and it is still above full. How is the oil being blocked from draining? I put a screw driver carefully in the oil drain hole and didn't feel any blockage. Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you may have to drop your pan and see what's going on. If I were to do it, I'd keep the plug in, have the truck on the ground, and place a floor jack, or floor tranny jack to help keep it from tipping.
