First of all...GREAT FORUM !!!!
I'm sure that this question has been asked before, but i'm about to ask it again.I had the engine light in my(new to me)1999 Blazer come on and when I took it to Auto Value to have the codes read, the P1870 code came up.My question is:will taking my truck on about a 2000 KM.trip cause any futher problems? We are headed to Vancouver from Calgary in about 3 days and I won't have any time to have the tranny looked at and fixed before we go.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance and keep up the great work!
Doug

The dreaded P1870 code is "somewhat" generic as I means your tranny has/is slipping somewhere. Something it can be an easy and inexpensive fix and other times it means you will need a rebuild in the very near future.
My advice, do not take it on your trip as you could very well be stranded in the middle of nowhere. Best advice I can give you is bring it to a very reputable shop that deals only in trannys and are "experts" with the 4L60E and have them take a look at it.
