ok let me start off by saying i have a 96 blazer..4.3 vortec..motor is shot..and i have a 93 4.3 vortec that is good ***** to the wall power house..my question is will if fit in my 96? and what do i have to change to get it to work..if it will...i dont want to sell it i want to get it running but not going to buy another motor ..the y want 900 for a motor around here used not rebuilt..plz help with any information

if the 93 has the 4L60E ( iknow it was an option in93) it might infact bolt up, but youll run into problems with the ODBI and ODBII systems. your 93 is ODBI and the 96 shiould be ODBII and you might have a tough time coverting everything, it shouldnt be impossible but itll be a hell of alot of work.

 

Engines are different. CPI motor vs SCFI motor. Head bolt pattern is different where it mates to the intake manifolds. As well as some other things covered in THIS ARTICLE by Doug Anderson.
