Default possible lifter noise or just noisy motor?

I have noticed that when the rpm's get to around 2500-3000 rpms I hcan hear what sounds like a lifter noise. So i brought it back to the dealer i bought it from because it came with a warranty. The mechanic there said that this noise is due to the fact that the 4.3 vortec is a noisy engine. Also the noise is due to the fact that the 4.3 vortec has a solid lifter cam and lifters instead of being hydrolic. Is this true or do i have a big problem here? Could it also be the oil filter?

You do not have a solid lifter cam. Unless someone put one in there. You should have a hydrualic roller cam. Someone is blowing sunshine up your skirt.

What does your oil pressure look like?

it sounds like they just dont feel like looking into the problem........ if you just bought it i would def bring it back...i can hear it now the warranty runs out and your engine goes on vac leaving you to pay the bills...............

I just thought about this, did it make that noise after you plugged up the vaccuum port??? I saw you posted you found the missing link..

the oil pressure when the motor is cold is around 60. Once it warms up it is 60 when driving and when stopped it is 40. I was thinking maybe it is th eoil filter that they put in. No the noise was always there. But if it was a lifter problem wouldn't it be there all the time and not just in the higher rpm range?
