Power Issue
#1
I'm having an issue with my 2000 Blazer, It has the 4.3 and its a 4x4. Sometimes it just doesnt want to go, then at other times it has screaming power. Like, if im pulling out of the bank or something it will hesitate very badly, makes a slight roaring sound like the converter is stopped up. If I get off the gas and 'baby' it, she'll usually get to going, but sometimes I do have to get off the road all together. Several mechanics Ive talked to and have looked at it just scratch their heads about it, and im scratching with them..
One guy said it was the converter, but wouldnt it do it all the time?
Then he said it may be something with the fuel pressure..
Doing a little searching on the Web I found this place, thanks for any help!
I forgot to mention that in reverse, it has this power problem everytime.

Bump!!
EGR Valve maybe.. anyone?
Still having the problem and a friend who is a mechanic said it could be the EGR, or the spider injectors..
Ruled out the converter already, its still like new. Thanks

Well, check fuel pressure. Needs to hit 60 psi with key on,then hold it abover 52 for 10 minutes. if thats good, sweet its not the fuel pump or regulator kit.
Take off the egr,use a old toothbrush(not a new one, wife yells at you) and get some brake cleaner and clean her out and have at it.
Whens the last time you did a tune up? (plugs, wires, cap n rotor, fuel filter)

Thanks for the reply!
I did a full tune up on it last year, and it was doing it before that, so that was actually the first thing I tried. Fuel filter was replaced with the tune up.
A guy at the auto parts store was just bent on it being the converter, so I removed it. That wasen't the problem, Somehow I knew it wasent. Now I feel pretty stupid about taking it off.
The next thing I'll do is clean that EGR, if that dont work then I'll try the fuel pressure possibility that I've bee avoiding doing for 2 years. Either way it has to be either the EGR, Fuel Pressure, or Injectors.. I'll let people know whatever I find out so it may help someone later on..
Thanks again for the reply! I'll definitely use an old toothbrush.
