Problems
My wife is a Mail lady and drives a 03 blazer to deliver Mail. The problem I am having with it is, well there is a few, but today is that when she goes to start it sometimes it takes several attempts before it start running. Then today she says that when she comes to a stop it lets off the gas it wants to die. It doesn’t do it every time but starting to do it more frequently. I changed the fuel filter last week hoping that was the problem but apparently not. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Do you have a scanner? Can it display live data? Do you have any codes? If no can you at least get to an auto parts store and get scanned for codes?
Do you have a fuel pressure gauge?
What rpm is it idling at when it wants to die?
There are a number of possible causes of this behavior. Fuel pressure, bad fuel, ignition, IAC valve, throttle body, injectors, O2 sensors, ... so proper diagnosis is way better than stabbing at the problem.
One quick thing that you can do before getting too fancy chasing this down is to clean the throttle body and butterfly plate to remove build up. There is a chance that this can fix your problem. After that then its on to a treasure hunt and we can help you with that.
