I have a question on my 97 4x4 Blazer 4.3. As I posted on here a couple of weeks ago I had a PO305 code which I replaced plug wires & that appeared to fix the problem. Well my neighbor kept telling me he smelled raw gas when I drove by. I never noticed a leak or the smell of gas, so I kind of just put it to the back of my mind. Well this morning my wife & I were getting ready to drive 150 miles to Prescott Az to the dealer we bought this from for warranty work. I started it up and pulled forward then stopped to check something & I see liquid running on the ground. I shut it off to find a major gas leak. The leak was the fitting that screws into the fuel block. It was finger tight & I guess finally backed out enough to really run gas out on the ground. I remembered what my neighbor told me. I crawled up and tightened the fitting, and started the truck to head out. It started missing with a flashing light, by the time I got a block down the road the miss quit & the light went solid ON. It stayed on all the way to Prescott. It was still on when I got to the dealership, Prescott Honda. Anyway I left the truck & the dealership gave us a new 2007 Honda Accord to drive until they get our truck fixed, at NO CHARGE.
My question is does anyone have an opinion what caused the solid light to remain on? The miss I figured was air from the gas leak.
ANY IDEAS GUYS? Without giving you a code.
Thanks

Wouldn't even take a guess at what it might be, but I would sure have the dealer scan it and tell me.

Thanks for your response. Yea that will happen. I was just curious if anyone had a guess. I figured the miss was air in the fuel line.
Thanks

It was all a sham! The dealership loosened the fuel line, just so this would happen, and you would have to take it in for service, and they would HAVE to give you a loaner '07 HONDA!
It's a trick to get you loving the hondas!!!!!

Well, it worked I really like the Honda as long as they let me borrow it. If I can't pay cash I don't buy, $30,000 for a vehicle is crazy IMHO. I spent our vehicle money for the year.

Don't need to guess as to why it went from a flashing light (misfire) to a solid light. Once the misfire condition stopped for whatever reason, the code is stored resulting in a steady light. If you had a fouled plug, it could have missed until the cylinder got hot enough to clean the plug, then cleared up. Air in the fuel lines would cause a stumble, not a single cylinder miss.
As this problem is related to a problem described in a previous thread, this information should have been used in the previous thread. Suggestions, symptoms, etc from the other thread may have bearing here. This is why things should be kept in the same thread.

I guess my confusion is that before the light went from flashing to solid but then went out. After the plug wires were replaced until I found this gas leak there was no problem or light. So I figured a different problem not related to the past.
Because it did stumble then the miss fire code only a few seconds then to solid. But it ran OK for 150 miles. We stopped a couple of times & started it back up no problem, but the light stayed on. Anyway the dealer will figure it out I hope. I was just curious & asking will hopefully help me understand in the future if need be.
I got out of the business as the computer cars were coming in so my experience is very limited with computer vehicles.
