Isnt it harder to remove the seats, center consul, and carpet than removing the Y pipe? I know the Y pipe is a little bit of a pain to remove but i think easier than cutting. Or you can cut the Y pipe out and do Duals early lol.

But if you are dead set on cutting a hole, look at (if you can) where the the lines are in relation to the shifter. Unless yours in on the column? In that case Take a drill bit and drill a hole in the floor where you think the lines are and use a flashlight to look at how close you are. Its a lot easier to plug a drill bit hole if you guessed wrong.

Unfortunately my shifter is on the colum,It would be nice to have a floor shifter or even a stick trans.I can get a good working one that will fit my blazer for $75.I dont have have alot of lifting room.Taking the Y pipe off isnt that hard.So maybe I`ll check into that route but Im told there isnt enough room to get up on the side of the trans from underneith. My dextarity with my hands isnt good I have arthritus in them.

I would still use like a 1/2" drill bit or the biggest size plug you can buy at the auto parts store and drill an "inspection hole" just to make sure you're in the right place.

Well today I was able to look underneith my Jimmy and dtermin where I will need to make a cut in the floorboard should I decide to pursue this route.
.
Now Im thinking of something different less destructive.Im probaly going to take it to a shop that i deal with and let him raise the vehicle high enough to do the work underneith it.
I realy dont feel like pulling up the carpet and undoing all the molding that holds it in place.Might cost more but at least it will be done the right way.
