Default Shift cable help!

Just put a new transmission in my 95 blazer automatic. Went ahead and did the shift cable but now im struggling to get it to work. Without the cable on the tranny shift smoothly and locks in every gear very solid. It seems the new cable is extremely stiff and is hard to get it to move. If i attach it to the column and leave it unhooked at the bottom i can move it fairly easy but the one i took out i could just grab with my hands and easily slide the cable. Is there anything i can do to free this new one up a bit? Thanks

New shift cable? I did mine a couple years ago, and I was shocked at how much easier it was to move the gear shift with the new one.

Maybe it's pinched somewhere? Or you got a defective cable

I agree. I just had one installed and it shifts much easier than the original

Thanks for the closure! It's always frustrating to find a thread that has the exact same problem as you, and the op never gave a conclusion!
