Have you considered getting a replacement tank from a wrecked Blazer? It would be a bit of a gamble but then again this sounds like a pretty rare issue to have so perhaps the odds would be in your favor if you did get a used one. You could also inspect it before you take buy it.

Thanks for the insight christine_208 bit actually i looked the tanks up on rockauto and they are only 88.00 - 92.00. i i thk i i may just get a new one. Do u know if there is a plastic tank available for 99 blazers?? 2dr2wdauto

Oh yeah. A hundred bucks is a small price to pay for peace of mind and the ability to sleep well at night.

As for plastic ones on the 99s. I think mine is metal but I have not had to look at it much at all. Although I do think I tapped on it once and it sounded like metal.

Perhaps there is an aftermarket supplier with plastic tanks?

But then again, a new metal tank should last 20 years (mine has) so I'd think that would be fine if you are worried about any new corrosion.

My Sweet Nightmare... 😂 Not such a nightmare now though... We been through alot together...
