Okay. So the engine is out. I get a call from the mechanic yesterday.. "The engine is from a van, and everything is different." (Apparently, a 1998 van.) I of course have a 1996 Blazer 4x4.
It is delayed now, but.. My understanding is that, if EVERYTHING is changed, (oil pan, my 4x4 has deep pan. Intake. Valve covers. Timing cover ? What else??) that.. it will work.
What you all think?

That would be cool, but. My regular V6 Blazer developed an engine issue, and I purchased an engine from a 1998 I thought was out of a Blazer.. V6. So the Astro van.. V6 engine. 1998 (I have a 96 Blazer)

I'm no expert, but I thought the only things that were different were the oil pan (and probably oil pump pickup) and the exhaust manifolds. The valve covers should be the same, unless they're switched from side to side.
If he changes the intake manifold, though, you'll get new gaskets, which is a good thing. Make sure he uses the better Fel-Pro ones.
