Default squeek sound coming from the belt?

Okay guys I know I ask a lot of questions. But I need help with this question the most. I just noticed today when I was driving my blazer (with the window down) I heard a squeeking coming from under the hood but it would only squeek when my rpms go over 3k. Its not like one long squeek its more alone the lines of squeek squeek squeek and the higher the rpms the squeeks increase. I looked under the hood at the belt and reved the motor and it looks like the belt may be loose? What could be the problem?

Sounds like your serpentine belt is worn out. Replace the belt and see if the noise goes away. Belt isn't exspensive at all and very easy to replace. Depending on the mileage of your truck, probably would be a good idea to replace the belt tensioner as well. Another item that is cheap to replace.

Yeah, sounds like your belt has gone bad.You might look for cracks or exposed cords on the belt. Like nj4x4 blaze said it might also be a good idea to replace your belt tensioner.

Cool.. Make sure to replace both items since you have to install a new tensioner anyway.
