Tail shaft housing ripped apart from trans... 1999 Chevy blazer 4x4
First, I wanna start off with... WTF.. I feel like something like this would only happen to me.. second, what would cause this? I've never seen or heard of this happening before.. 3rd you think the whole trans is doenzo? Or should I try slapping on a new tail shaft housing and see what happens? It was driving fine before this freak incident happened. Thanks in advance!
broken output shaft
output bearing seized and exploded
front U joint locked up.
Id seriously consider a replacement, metal fragments may be inside or other hidden damage when fluid was lost.
or a big rock hit the trans case.
Driveshaft rebuild might be good too. Bearings dont like huge shocks.

The tail shaft housing on your 1999 Chevy Blazer 4x4 could rip apart due to severe drivetrain stress, such as sudden torque spikes, misaligned driveshafts, or extreme off-road impacts. Worn transmission or transfer case mounts might exacerbate vibrations, causing structural failure. Inspect for internal transmission damage, as debris or misalignment might have harmed other components. If the tail shaft itself is damaged, the transmission might need extensive repairs or replacement. A professional inspection will confirm if the trans is done or salvageable.
