Default Throttle cable issue

I'm having a hard time with this. I removed the throttle body and cables when removing the engine, they were fine. Now with the "new" engine in, we cant get the throttle cable on.

The problem is that once it is on, throttle is open half way almost all the way.

when inspecting cable, it looks like the outer sleeve is stretched at the firewall, maybe about an inch and a half, I cant tell if it was like that before or not, but I'm thinking this could be the problem. I forgot to grab a picture sorry about that.

since I got the zr2 still, hes going to pull the cable off of there and see if that goes on.

I just wanted to see if anyone one had thoughts on this, maybe a way to fix the cable, or just pouch it and get it swapped out.

Default

Just swapped out the cable with the one from the parts truck. Not sure what happened, but the stretched outer shell was the issue.
