Anyone know which wire to disconnect when setting the timing? I thought I found it but all it seemed to do was disconnect my tach.

on a '84? it's carb'd & vacuum.........no wire (that i remember.........)
you need to disconnect (& plug) the vacuum diaphragm for the advance (on the distributor), then check/set timing. once done, reconnect the vacuum hose to the diaphragm.

I do not see any vacuum going to the distributer. It is California emissions, does that make a difference? Would the vacuum line be visible or is it tucked back there somewhere?

The early carbed California vehicles had a computer and an electronically controlled carb. It's an E2SE instead of a 2SE carb. Didn't see anything in the manual about anything different with the timing thiugh.

Hey so you are saying it is vacuum advanced Gimpy? I am just thinking it is electrical because I do not see a vacuum line going to the distributer. It would be pretty obvious to see right? Also I sent you the email address to send the adjustments for the carb.
