tranny possibly going out?
#1
well as the title say i think my transmission is going out. it when going from 1st to 2nd it revs what seems to be higher then normal before it shifts and when it does it shifts into the gear hard but doesnt really do it going into other gears. and when its been sitting and cools down there seems to be a huge power loss where i can floor it and nothing thats not to say i have no power at all it goes and everything but not the power i should have when i gun it but after a block or 2 it will catch up with itself and go. and another thing when im going down a hill (going to park on the street) ill back up too adjust and i can feel it shift and what seems like slip the gear and catch again then i can go in reverse and when im on a steeper hill i have to do a 1 foot on the brake and 1 on the gas and do a clutch and gas pedal type thing or else it will roll forward down the hill. ive had some ppl say to adjust the band in the transmission and some say the shift solenoid and im thinking the transmission is going out and just needs rebuilding....any ideas?

Get a tube of Stutter-Stop and plan for a rebuild.
The valve body plates have run soft in the 4L60s, and the circuit can be compromised over the many, many miles.
With a tranny, if it breaks, it's usually the valve body. The other side, if it's slipping, time to throw in the towel.
Mine went out in Florida on vacation with no warning at all. Just decided the easterly winds comming out of Demand were too much to handle. Not the 1000 miles of hills coming down from Tennessee! LoL - my advice with slipping, hurry up and get it rebuilt if you depend on this truck!
Pm me if you want my parts list for a no fail 4L60E.
