Transfer Case Neutral Light on Dim when in Auto or 4Hi or 4Lo
OK trans experts, I have a small issue. This morning my wife noticed the neutral light in the 4-button Auto transfer case controls was coming on dim when she used 4Hi or Auto, but not in 2Hi. Shifting, operation, and driving performance seems quite normal in these positions. However, I did put it down in 4WD-Lo - and when I drove it in low range the transmission would not shift out of first gear. Then I put it in Neutral and neutral light came on bright and verified really in neutral. Then went back to hi-range, with light still on dim in Auto and 4Hi (but not in 2Hi). Am wondering if same issue causing neutral light on dim is keeping trans from shifting when in 4Lo only. Anyone have any experience with this happening? Looks like TCCM drives the circuit for the neutral light in the controls by grounding it. Hi range is fully functional, but it bothers me the trans won't shift in 4Lo.
Thanks in advance

Wife says the problem has gone away on it's own. Now normal display of indicator lights in controls when in 4Hi or Auto. Haven't tried the transmission shifting or neutral indicator light when in 4Lo.
Wife is really good about watching things! Checks her tires and oil and trans fluid by herself - then if it needs anything that is my job. Super nose for antifreeze leaks and great ears for abnormal noises - then reports and asks. Tells me when I need to change her oil. Calculates her mileage each tank fill. Doesn't leave any crap at all in the vehicle. Very observant. Successfully drove a Pontiac Sunbird and then a 2WD short bed Ford Ranger in the Northern Indiana Winter for years, so very safe in a 4WD Blazer - no false sense of security in the ice and snow. Proud of her!
