My 97 blazer isn't shifting right. Shifts into 1st &2nd fine. Then I have to let off gas to shift into third. Any help would be appreciated. It will get up to about 60 andwont shift anymore.

When it tries to shift up into 3rd does it slip and seem like it is in neutral with the engine revving? If so, your 3/4 clutch pack might be worn out and a rebuild would then be necessary. That is what happened to mine.

Dirty or failing MAF sensor will cause this. (Mass Airflow Sensor)

How would the MAF affect this?

The transmission shift scheduling relies on many engine control inputs to determine shift strategy and pressure control. It is a computer controlled transmission.
