I am changing the timing chain on my 1997 Blazer 4x4 with 4.3 of course. I am down to removing the timing chain cover and everything I googled says to remove the front two oil pan bolts. What bolts? Is that a shield over the oil pan or is it the actual oil pan? The cover is loose but hung up on bottom

I have never tried to remove the cover with the crank sensor in place. You may just try removing the sensor.

 

got it off new problem.
