Where to start
Have a 99 Blazer.. 4.3 6cyl 4 x 4 .. 4 button transfer switch .. Having an issue with the transfer case shifting into modes by itself. I've done a ton of searching on this subject but haven't found anything specific related to what is going on with my truck. When I start it up, the mode switch on the dash will flash in 4x4 auto, 2-wheel drive, 4 x 4 HI, and then 4 x 4 LO .. then it goes back to flashing in 4 x 4 auto and settles there. I can not get it to go into 2-wheel drive unless I disconnect the vacuum switch on the firewall and plug the line that runs over to and under the battery. If I leave it in 4 x 4 auto and drive the truck it will eventually switch down to 4 x 4 LO by itself and I have to stop and disconnect the vacuum line and start over. I am on a fixed income with very little extra money to spend on this so any help would be deeply appreciated by me. The snow is coming and I need this to work properly for the winter. I have replaced the dash 4 position switch and checked the vacuum lines and all seems to be okay. I don't know whether to buy a new transfer case switch or the comp unit in the kick panel. Hoping someone here has had the same issues and figured it out.
