will front diff from a 96 fit a 99 w/ autotrac?

Default will front diff from a 96 fit a 99 w/ autotrac?

My 99 has a cracked front diff case where it mounts to the frame , will a diff from a 96 fit my 99?

Negative ghostrider.

In 97 GM switched from flanged diff/CV connection to a slip in style. So you need a 97+ front diff if you wanna keep your CVs. If you can get your hands on the 96 front diff and CVs (and probably the rest of the front axle?) it might be do-able. Probably easier to find a newer diff though?
