is 50psi enough in my tires

Default is 50psi enough in my tires

Just got 4 new BF goodrich 265/75/16 Trail tires for my truck, I only put 50 psi in for now should I go higher, in my car i only run 32-35, but I hear some trucks can take up to 80psi, naturally I would figure it would say in the door jamb butr i didnt see anything, these sidewalls say 65psi max, but I figure thats for towing which im not currently doing any of

Default RE: is 50psi enough in my tires

my buddy runs the same size on his silverado... the BFG tire place reccomended between 50-55... i think he runs his closer to the 55 end... they ride pretty good.....

No, the side wall pressure is a MAXIMUM pressure recommendation for that specific tire......it has nothing to do with the proper PSI for this truck. I would assume that they are passenger car tires ( a "P" 265/75/16)? If so, just set them at the highest pressure you can to yield a good ride quality (I would suggest about 50-55 PSI like a_tack said) As for some trucks running 80 PSI yes some do and they are the "LT" tires which stands for light truck and are used on 3/4 ton and larger trucks typically.

If passenger tires, I ran 40 to 45 PSI.
So your ride is not real hard.
