i'm trying to check the spark plugs but I can find the distributor cap anyone know where on a 86 that thing is located???

 

Back of the engine slightly offset to the passenger side. It should be right behind the air cleaner. You will want to remove the air cleaner to get a better look at the distributor.

The plugs are located on each side of the engine in amongst the exhaust manifolds.
