Default 92 fullsize Blazer-replacing the starter

I know that the starter in my son's Blazer is shot. When you try to start it, the starter is making clicking sounds. Had the battery checked. Battery is good. Hit the starter several times with a hammer. Nothing. What wires do you have to take off the starter? There is one in the front that son is having a hard time getting off. This Blazer is 4WD, a 5.7LT engine, and automatic. My son was trying to get the 2 bottom bolts off. But they are on tight. Going to borrow a air gun and take the bolts off. I know to disconnect the postive battery cabel. Thanks, gearyr

There should be two wires on the starter. The main battery cable and then the smaller solenoid trigger wire. They can be a pain to get removed.

IIRC, you will need to unbolt the starter first and twist it around to be able to get at the wires. PITA in a tight area but doable.

yeah most these fullsized blazers that ive messed with have more then enough wire. on my current truck i can actually rest it on the front axle while i disconnect the wires. though my stuff is older
