Idle problems?
Hi i have a 79 k5 blazer with a 305 and a quardjet carb. So the truck idles high when its cold but i know its suppose to do that. So after i drive for about 30 Min and turn it off, if i go to start it again (even if its not even 5 min later) i have to let it idle down again. Is that whats suppose to happen or is there something wrong? Im not mechanically inclined on older square body trucks.
* something else i forgot is that when the truck shifts to 2nd it seems like it wants to slip when i go give it gas. So does that mean i need to get the tranny rebuilt too?
The guy i got this from jimmy-rigged everything so im trying to unjimmy-rig it. I want to learn everything i can about this truck so if anyone can help id greatly appreciate it

It sounds like there is something wrong with the choke on the carb and/or whatever controls it.
How long does it take to drop to regular idle when it is cold and when it is up to operating temperature?
