Default New to this and need help

I want to build my own custom blazer. I am getting a 1985 k5 blazer completely stripped and am putting all the work in my self with a friend and i am not sure what engine to put into it. I want power lots of power however i want a ton of torque as well. i am currently looking on Jegs.com and cannot really understand what i need so anyone to help would be greatly appriciated.

Will you be building an engine, or buying a crate motor? If you want a small block, it's hard to beat a 383 stroker for torque.
