Default rear power window switch

the key switch in the tailgate of my '84 blazer doesn't work. the switch in the dash works so I know it's not the motor. how hard are these things to change? also I was considering converting to a manual rear window so I don't have to deal with this or a burnt motor in the future, is that hard to do? maybe just replace the whole tailgate with a manual window? thanks in advance

There are switches on the tailgate latches and the contacts and connectors corrode. You can remove the latches and clean up the connectors and they will probably work again.
Take the access panel off the tailgate and lube the guides on both sides to help reduce the power needed for the motor to work.
www.lmctruck.com has probably all the replacement parts you would need.
