Default Three Questions

Hello Everybody! i have some questions for you (Blazer K5 1990)

1. my tranny jumps between the third and the fourth gear when i'm at cruising speed, if i apply more gas it stops. someone spoke with me about the kickdown but i don't know what i need to do.

2. my wipers are working at the same rate no matter how i turn the stick. and it doesn't stop unless i stop it with the reverse mode at the start.
i have no idea what component controls it.

3. my road lights are working fine but when i'm trying to switch to high lights it sometimes works and sometimes i need to give it a few trys. is there a problem with my lights controller that located behinde the dash?

thanks in advance, Yarin.

#2 & #3 would both be controlled by the multifunction switch. It is possible that the switch is bad.

For #1, it is possible that the TV cable is not adjusted properly. Run a Google search for 700R4 TV adjustment and you should find more than enough information.

What size tires and what gear ratios are you running? Try only putting it in overdrive when traveling at highway speeds and having a lightly loaded engine. If you give it more than about a quarter throttle then it will unlock the converter everytime.

sorry for the delayed response guys. i'm running on 33' tires and 4.56 gear ratio. actually the problem usually occurs on inclided roads. so when i give it more gas it drives o.k. but im sure this is not the way to fix this, you think i should try and adjust the TV cable?
by the way - the multifunction switch controls the lights and the wipers as well or is it a different multifunction switch?

thanks in advance, yarin.

33" tires and 4.56 gear ratios are a good setup and shouldn't cause your tranny to constantly downshift. I would take Kyle's advice and look at the tv cable.
