What trans do I have in my blazer
that could begood news cause there is something wrong with my trans, i think its just a check valve sticking in the valve body but what do i know? I have a 4L60-E from an old camaro i had, im wondering if I can reuse the current Blazer converter and swap tail shafts to adapt to the transfer case, anyone know? Sounds lodgical right, until i get it apart and try lifting up the camaro trans to the truck.....
Nice Tahoe/Blazer, that might work but you might check the output shaft spline count, even though the cases would bolt up the internal shaft may not mate up to the transfer case input shaft and seal??? but that is just from thinking to much. Check with your local tranny shop to find out the clear answer...
You will have to change the output shaft on the tranny from the 2wdr version to the 4wdr version to bolt ont eh t-case, plus take off the tailhousing and put on the t-case adapter. Otherwise its a direct bolt on.
you guys are all alright... this is only my third truck, all my other vehicals have been camao's old and new, amonte carlo SS, a cutlass 442etc... My other two previoustrucks were my 1986 K20 pick up (my favorite) and some **** *** 1988 S-10 4WD Blazer with a 2.8 and I must say i enjoy working on the trucks much more than my cars, well aside from that day / weekend i thoulght it would be a good idea to tackle all four ball joints in my K-20 that is.... My dads dealership deals with a trans shop and i sort of know the guy there (through my father) i will go speak to him about getting me the parts.
I asume the imput shafts are the same, same splines in a camaro converter to a Blazer converter? I ask becausei plan on reusing the blazer converter
Thanks again for all your advice.

Taht Is dont know. ask the tranny guy. He will know. He shoudl also have a spare 4wdr output shaft or two laying around the shop too. Around here you can pick them up for less hten $20. No doubt he could do the swap for ya as well. Its not hard, you just have to remove the bguts of the tranny to do it.
