Smile 1997 Blazer 4x4 compatible ABS code reader???

Hey everyone!!

I am in search of an "Affordable" ABS code reader that will actually work with my 1997 Chevy Blazer Base 2-Door 4.3L 4x4. I have used a cheap MacTool scanner from eBay that will not communicate, a Innova 3040c scanner that claims it will work but failed to communicate, Actron Scanner and a Harbor Freight Cen-Tech 60794 OBD II / ABS reader that also wouldn't communicate. The only scanner that will read my 1997 Blazer is a very expensive Snap-On Solus Ultra that my buddy has. I am tired of bugging him when I need it and would love to have something of my own.

Has anyone had any experienced a Code reader that will work with the older 1997 Blazer ABS computer? I have replaced a ABS Speed sensor on front right after pulling the codes with the Snap-on and all is fine. It would be nice to have something for future issues. Thank You!

It's possible but, my harbor freight one is actually made by Autel and I have two of them that will not read. 1998 had a lot of changes made from previous years and has different ABS components. Even the wheel speed sensors are completely different in 1998 from 1997. Thanks

Ebay usually has decent prices used Snap On Solus and Solus Ultra. Just need to make sure it has the software for at least 1997, (updates are $1K a year, only from SnapOn).

96 through 05 use Class 2 serial data bus for engine and transmission.
95 through 97 4WAL uses UART.
98 through 05 use Class 2 for 4WAL.
Had ABS problem on my 96. Never found cheap code reader for ABS.
Local brake specialty shop had code reader and purged air from 4WAL.

I just ordered one of these ...Heres the link... And it cost me $50.28 from amazon.prime...http://www.amazon.com/Innova-3030g-D..._detailpages00 It showed 6 codes for the abs system, I erased those and drove it for awhile and retested it, and got 2 more codes... I have a 2000 blazer 4x4 and for the money I can't complain.....
