200K Dexcool Radiator Pics
Anytime you mention Dexcool you get your horror stories. My truck has just over 200,000 miles on it and my radiator developed a leak at the seal between the end cap and tank. I replaced the radiator and took it apart to scrap the aluminum. Figured I'd take some pics and post up what my radiator looked like with 200,000 miles and 11 years of Dexcool.
Please note there is no pluggage at either end of my radiator. There is a slight amount of scale buildup, however this thing is 11 years old, and has 200,000 miles on it. I would expect some buildup. What you don't see is any sludge from Dexcool. Failure of radiators due to Dexcool is not the Dexcool fault, its 100% the responsibility of the owner/operator. Keep the air out of the system and the Dexcool wont give you any problems.
Components- Radiator, plastic end caps, rubber seals, oil & tranny coolers. Plus a nut and washer at each end to attach the coolers to the end caps.

Been pretty good, thanks for asking gentlemen. Wish I had more time to spend on the site. I do pop in a time or two a week. Can't stay long today, heading out to my youngest sons bachelor party shortly. Wont be long and the wife and I will be empty nesters, DINKS! Dual Income No Kids, Im stoked, already bought her a new car HHR. Almost traded the Blazer in for it, ended up trading in the Liberty instead. She got the HHR I get a boat in the winter. :biggrin

Gotta go eat and drink till he pukes. lol

That rad looks great! I have to agree that most fault lies on the owner. You don't have to do a coolant flush often, and it isn't hard. I'd say to stick to either dexcool or regular and not switch back and forth and you'll be fine.
