Default 4WD questions

I'm getting ready to purchase a 2002 and had a couple of questions about the 4WD system. Can you leave it in 4WD all the time or is it bad for it? Also how much does your gas mileage drop when using it?

Leaving it in 4x4 all the time is bad. It puts alot of strain on your drivetrain. You will also see a noticeable drop in mpg if you run it like that

Ittl kill your gas mileage. Driving four wheels takes more effort then driving two wheels so the drivetrain has to work harder. It is bad to leave it in 4WD. It should only err be engaged when not on dry pavement.
