Default 97 blazer oile level reading very high despite using the correct amount of oil

I recently bought a 97 blazer and the oil level was reading extremely high and I assumed the previous owner massively overfilled it but I changed the oil today and measured what I took out and it was just a little over 4qts and after refilling it with 4.5 qts it is still reading extremely high above all the writing on the dipstick I googled the part number on the stick and it is the correct one for this engine. The truck did come with an old dipstick tube and dipstick but the extra dipstick is considerably longer than the one being used now and I wasn't able to see enough of the tube that's currently on the engine to compare it to the extra one or get a part number to confirm it's the correct one and I've heard you have to partially remove the engine to drop the oil pan to change the dipstick and that's more work than I'm willing to do. Does anyone have any good advice?

no you do not have to remove the engine. its one bolt on the trans. Get under and look. If you drained and put the proper amount in you should be fine

I know I have the correct amount in it now but I'd like to be able to accurately monitor the level and since I'm going to be selling it asap I don't want anyone that checks it out to think there is a problem.
