Hello, I have been looking to purchase a Blazer for a very long time now. I found one that peeked my interest but I'm just not familiar with Blazers so I don't know if this is a good buy or not. This guy is selling his 1971 Blazer for $9000 but I know he'll let it go for $7,500. Any opinions would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!!! Here is a copy and paste from the ad:

Bought it in 2006 . Did a complete overhaul, removed body, sunblasted and painted chasis with new body mounts. Thanks for the replys!! The Blazer is missing a few things. Most importantly it's missing seat belts for the rear seat. It also needs locks for the doors, inside door handles, and the handle to roll up and down the windows and lights that go on the sides on the front and back. Here are some pics:

Looks like it's missing the wheel wells too. The engine looks pretty exposed to mud/water from the tire. Maybe that's how they were? It looks pretty nice, How's it drive on the highway if you've drivin it? Feel for vibration.

Good point about the wheel well.. I have not driven it so I'm not sure about any vibration. He started it and it sounded like a monster (in a good way). I'm concerned with any reliability issues due to all the aftermarket stuff that has been added. Plus the radiator fan and the water pump need to be turned on manually inside the truck. He said he did it that way to get the most HP out of the engine.

I wouldn't be concerned about the aftermarket equipment. A lot of the components you listed are made by good companies.
As far as the electric fan and water pump, you can rewire them to be more hassle free. The water pump can be tied into the ignition switch so it's running whenever the ignition is on. The fan can be wired up to a thermostatic controller that will turn them on when the temperature of the radiator is high enough to warrant additional airflow.
The pictures look fairly decent. I'm not sure I would pay that much for the truck considering what's missing without first researching the truck a bit more.
Was it originally a big block truck? Is the engine original? Have you decoded the VIN (LMCTruck.com has a breakdown)? Does the truck still have its original RPO (regular production option) or SPI (service parts identification) code sheet/sticker; typically inside the glove box?
