Definitely a GM product. The owners manual will cover the oil grades for given temperatures. For typical conditions, 5w30 is what is recommended. The 4.3L will hold ~5qts.

5 quarts exactly is convienent!, engines that require quarts and a half are a pain in the a$$. Ive' decided to take the Blazer, but if I didnt it was most likely to be sold to a used car lot. I read in a consumer review that the Blazer/S-10 was Izusu inspired engenering, design?? Was that just someone trashing the Chevrolet Blazer??

Someone had to be trashing the **** out of it! Hell the S-10 Platform started in 1982 wayyyyyyyyy before Isuzu even partnered or became with GM.

The izuzu S-10 Wives tale is just that.

Anyone else sometimes feel like they are stuck in the movie "Idiocracy"?

"I read it on the Internets... so its true."

If it wasn't driven hard, it should be good. I've been really lucky with my used 01 Jimmy. Expect some costs for normal wear and tear, but if has had a good history, can expect a good future. I inherited the driveline clunk when I bought my Jimmy, but diagnosed and fixed the problem myself (U-joint, $30 from NAPA; the experience of fixing myself, priceless).
