Wart, looks like that good ol northern American salt may have got to them

 

^^^ well Pilot Accessories finally answered me.
all was good till i told them i live in Michigan...then of course the warranty doesnt cover enviromental damage...a.k.a road salt corrosion. What i figured would be the answer. so when it warms up again they are all coming off and going to scrap yard. and then the search for new steps. yeahhhh
