Default Can I Tow This Trailer?

I am looking to tow a 17' travel trailer to Fl., and back. Will my "99" Blazer w/4.3 Vortec 4 wheel drive make it safley? New beginer. What kind of fuel mileage can I expect?

There are a lot of factors that play into this. More info would be helpful. That is a longish trailer for a short wheelbase truck, but I'm sure there are those on here who have towed longer.

Trailer:
Loaded Weight?
Tongue Weight?
Brakes?
Sway Control?
Weight Distro Setup?
Single/Dual Axle?

Blazer:
Stock Hitch?
Tranny Cooler?
Brake Controller?
Gear Ratio?

Doable, but I'd much rather be towing that with a full sized.

Just have to take it slow, and use common sense. A big tranny cooler wouldn't hurt either.

I use my 2001 Jimmy to pull a 24' car hauler out to the lake during winter. It usually has 2 sleds and a 4 wheeler inside and is finished inside with a generator, microwave and a bunch of parts and tools.I use a weight equalizer hitch, don't go over 55 and have 2 axle brakes on the trailer. It's only a 10 mile trip, but includes getting on and off the lake using a concrete ramp with a pretty good slope. No problems for the Jimmy with the 4.3 V6.
