Default Differences in 95-97 and 98 and up

Im sorry if this has been asked i've looked and couldnt find anything (feel free to post the mandatory "use the search function" comments), but what, if anything, is not interchangeable as far as after market stuff for 97vs98s. Now ive only had mine (95 4 door 4wd jimmy) for a little over a week so im new to this world, but it seems the majority of after market stuff out there is listed as 98-02. Right now im looking at brush gaurds and keep running into this, but ive seen it with alot of other stuff as well. Thanks for the help!
