nah there was basically no mud, it was a bit damp since it was at around 9 pm but that was it.

To fit 31" tires, which is the next size up, you'd need to put in a 2" body lift or a 2" shackle along with a torsion bar crank. You can crank your current torsion bars to achieve the lift without having to buy that part.

These stickies go into the details

go to a junk yard and find a blazer that has a g80 differential (fairly common in stock blazers) and swap that rear end with yours. cheap and fairly easy to do if you have the time. oh you will also need to make sure that the differential has the same gearing.

How often have you been offroading before? I drove my 89 S15 Jimmy through a construction zone and almost made it with really bald tires. Driving style has a lot to do with how far you can go offroad. Not quite as much as the tires you are using, but nearly as much.

I would recomend the G80 idea, I love mine. It's great for the damp and muddy stuff.

The G80 is a limited slip differential. Your diff is most likely "open," meaning that power will be going to the wheel with the least amount of resistance. So, if you were off roading and got into a situation where one of the rear tires was off the ground, the tire that left the ground will spin. You can tell if you have the G80 by looking in the glove box. There should be a sticker with a list of RPO codes. If you see G80 anywhere on the list, then you have the limited slip.

ok so most blazers will have the g80? or is there a certain model that has it? and how much should i pay for one? how about one of these JEGS High Performance or is there a different model i should be looking at? and how exactly would i figure out which one is right?

No, the G80 was included in the ZR2's and was an available option for all other Blazers. Your best bet would be to try and find somebody parting out a ZR2 or find one at a junkyard and pull the axle, or just the carrier itself
