disappointed in my blazer...
lol ^^
And i used center in and offset out i believe.
About your 4WD my guess is a vacuum problem, lots of posts you can read to get all the info you need. but that would explain why you got stuck so easy lol.

so what exactly would the broken part be called so i can do a bit of research?
well i decided to try to turn my front driveshaft by hand and i got an unexpected result, in 2wd thew driveshaft is quite easy to spin by hand, but in 4wd it has maybe a half inch or so of slack and then it is impossible to turn. i didn't have the car running when i did this test, i just had the keys turned so that the radio and the 4wd button lights were working, so my question is what does this mean?
sorry you mustve posted that right before i posted, but i read the article and i saw that the same vacuum that powers the 4wd also powers the HVAC, and the air conditioning doesn't work in my blazer, it only blows out hot and room temp air, no cold. could these problems be connected?

thats where i would start. if you need to do a output shaft seal i can walk you through that too. hopefully it doesnt need to come to that.
mine is the same way. check your transfer case. take the filler bolt out and check the level inside. if fluid pours out the filler tube you have a bad outupt shaft seal. (same thing happened in mine) this means that the transmission fluid is getting sucked out of your transmission and put into your transfer case. and eventually it gets sucked into the vacuum lines clogging them up. i would start by checking that filler hole. if its fine then you are lucky. i would then start following the vacuum lines from the solenoid ontop of the t-case. one is a vent, one goes to your actuator under the battery, and one goes to the hvac. check to see if your actuator is broken as they can be very fragile. they tear easily seeing as how the diaphram is exposed.
