It can probably go faster, but is it safe to do so... Probably not. After all, it is a 21 year old vehicle.

Curb weight should be in the 3300lb range with nothing else in it.

I don't know about the 89's, but my '98 will go 98MPH (how bout that lol) then the speed limiter kicks on. I don't intend on removing the speed limiter because it really doesn't feel that stable going any faster.

I rarely drive over 70 the ride quality gets pretty sketchy after 75-80, and who needs to go that fast?

My 97's Spedometer goes to 100, but the limiter stops it at 95. However there is no point in going that fast in a Blazer, unless it's Lowered and set up for Drag Racing or Drifting.

Fastest I've had mine going is about 80. but I'm sure it could go a bit faster.

I had to floor it getting on the freeway two days ago. Had no choice due to a large semi in my lane going way too fast. My spedo quit at 85 but i suspected i was doing maybe 90. I slowed down to 75 as soon as i was clear. Trucks are supposed to drive 65 but this one was going a lot faster than that. I hope he got a ticket.
