6. 3K
7. Original, 193k

9. Yes
10. Mainly the cooling system. Mine is very rusty and will kill water pumps and thermostats. A previous owner didn't take care of it. That is actually what burned up the tranny, it over heated because of the radiator.

7. How many rebuilds or replaced engines? How many miles?
Original. No rebuilds with 329,073kms
8. How many rebuilds or replaced transmissions? How many miles?
Original no rebuilds.
9. Do you do your own maintenance? How much?
I do most of the maintenance but do bring it in when I just don't have time.
10. Please describe how much maintenance you have to do and whether or not you think your Blazer is worth maintaining.
I replaced the block heater, fuel pump, spark plugs and alternator once. I also replaced the suspension and have gone through many brake pads. I also fixed a major oil leak which happened to be just a busted line. All in all I think this is just regular maintenance with a vehicle 19 years old.

My Blazer amazes me because it is still running VERY STRONG and it really hasn't had major issues with it. My biggest concern for it is the rust. It's age plus two hit and runs later, it has become really ugly and needs to be de-rusted and fixed up on the outside. I tryed myself, but the rust has come through again over the Canadian winter .
It looks like I will have to come up with $10,000 to professionally fix the outside before it is too late. In my opinion it is well worth it. I love my Blazer! PM me if you recommend anyone please... Thanks!

9. Do you do your own maintenance? How much? Do all my own work. Dont like other people touching my vehicles.

10. Please describe how much maintenance you have to do and whether or not you think your Blazer is worth maintaining? The 88 is just a driver. Its been averaging 19 mpg so im not ready to let it go. The 97 i want to eventually put a lift kit on and maybe a 350 swap. Time and moneys short right now. Start having kids and the toys get put on hold.

since i've owned so many Blazer/Jimmy's, i'll limit it to my current '98.

1. nope (original owner @ Chritsmas/08).
2. 1998.
3. 4 door
4. 4WD
5. not yet
6. i change the engine oil the 1st of every month (mileage varries, but never will it go over 5000kms).
7. 0, 210,xxx kms.
8. 0, 210,xxx kms.
9. other than getting the front end alignment done (regularly), there isn't anything that doesn't get fixed by me.
10. on this truck i've done.......when i first got the truck i did ALL fluids, the pitman & idler, complete tune-up, front pads/rotors, complete rear brakes (new once, machined 2nd time). i've also done the thermostat, cat (internally broken), rear wiper motor, u-joints in rear driveshaft, replaced a twitchy driver's pwr mirror, and replaced the driver's HL as a flock of birds flew in front of the truck, breaking the upper part of the bracket.

i probably gonna do the upper/lower bj's before it gets cold again, they're making noise (and were already replaced before i got the truck with 158K on it).

sure my Blazer is worth keeping/maintaining, the body is in great shape (no holes), runs & drives great (even managed to get rid if the engine "tick").

besides, i doubt i'll buy anything newer ever again-unless it's another '98-'05 Blazer (i seem to know them so well now).
