I have a 94 parts blazer i might pull the engine out of, it ran when parked, that chassis has 198,000.
The '96 now has a '96 engine from a S10 truck with over 220,000 miles. Bearings looked good, put a new oil pump in, front/rear crankshaft seals, oil pan gasket, remote oil filter lines, and a new radiator. Seems to run ok, even though the back 2 cylinders were a little low on compression compared to the front 4 (140 vs 170) and i picked from the best used ignition componets i had to choose from. Timing chain didnt seem to have any streach to it so i left it alone. Runs better than i thought it would, certianally better than my diesel-sounding original engine with all those spun bearings. Lol

Running strong and delivering excellent fuel economy at 205k. I should have stayed with with 10w-30 instead of going back to 5w-30 as this site recommended:uses a 1/2 qt every 2k which is still OK,compared to my Lincoln that uses a qt every 600 miles and doesn't leak it-Fords just use oil. But I will be going back to 10w-30 at the next change!
97 Jimmy-2nd owner. >65k in 3 years with no let downs or surprises! Its a keeper!

My 94 jimmy 4x4 still going with 226,000. Got 17 mpg last fill up, but has had a burnt exhasut valve for a while. Still drive it when I want but plan to repair eventually. Just causes a slight skip at idle.

The 96 had 260,000 when the intake gasket went unnoticed, could have gone longer but people make mistakes.

I have a 92 s10 Blazer 4x4 with 217,000 miles. Now that I fixed the issues that plagued it when I bought it, it runs like a champ.

I cracked the block at around 150k when the water pump went out. Everything stock. $3k later had a new engine put in.
