The fan switch in the 1996 Jimmy I bought doesn't seem to have detents for each speed. It changes speeds when I move it, but the movement is smooth with no "stop" at each speed. Is this normal or is the switch worn? Thanks.

 

Some models have what you are talking about, and some have specific speeds I have found. They are not interchangeable to my knowledge. But its normal, I prefer the setup you have, but I do not have it myself.
